Two-Days Workshop on
Protocol Development, Network Simulation and Emulation using NCTUns 5.0
The Center of Research in Networks and Telecom (CoReNeT) has organized a hands-on workshop on deployment, configuration and usage Network Simulator that is NCTUns version 5.0. This workshop has covered almost all the aspects of NCTUns including patch writing.

To help attendees exercise and utilize the ideas, the workshop provides protocol configuration samples (where available) on recommendations discussed during the workshop. It also includes an open forum to discuss and share the lessons-learnt on new protocols deployment, market trends and technology evolution.

Simulation Capabilities:
Compared with the 4.0 version, the 5.0 version includes new supports for (1) IEEE 802.11(p)/1609 WAVE wireless vehicular networks, (2) IEEE 802.16(e) mobile WiMAX networks, (3) various and more realistic wireless channel models, and (4) parallel simulations of fixed networks on multi-core machines.
The other capabilities include: IEEE 802.16(d) WiMAX PMP and mesh mode networks, IEEE 802.11(a/b) WLAN ad-hoc and infrastructure mode networks, IEEE 802.11(b) wireless mesh networks, DVB-RCS satellite networks, GPRS cellular networks, optical circuit-switched and burst-switched networks, IEEE 802.11(e) QoS WLAN, tactic and active mobile ad hoc networks, mobile ad hoc networks, Intelligent Transportation Systems networks, multi-interface mobile nodes, directional and steerable antennas, emulations, fixed networks, etc.
