CoReNeT is organizing a seminar under the title " Cyber Security - Challenges and Opportunities" on April 06, 2015 from 4 to 5.30 PM at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Islamabad. Mr. Adli Wahid, Security Specialist, Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) Australia, is invited to deliver a talk on the topic. It is an open opportunity for MS & PhD students to get an informative insite on the same.


Abstract:
Cyber security is on the top of every nation and organization's agenda today. While there seems to be a lot of awareness on the issues, a lot of entities are struggling to manage security. Based on the experience of working with the security community and helping organizations deal with security breaches, Adli Wahid will cover the following topics during his presentation.

* Threat Landscape
* Cyber Security Framework
* Research & Relevant works to improve cyber security
* Opportunities & Challenges

Adli Wahid (Bio):
Adli Wahid (@adliwahid) is currently a Security Specialist at the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) in Brisbane, Australia. He helps in promoting security best practices to APNIC members and stakeholders such as Law Enforcement Agencies, Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) and Government agencies. He regularly deliver speaks and conduct trainings at security events in the region. Since 2014, Adli is also a board member of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST.org). Prior to APNIC, Adli had served Bank of Tokyo-Mitubishi UFJ, Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team (MyCERT) / CyberSecurity Malaysia and the International Islamic University Malaysia.
